World War II Tea
On Friday afternoon, Year 6 had a World War II tea party. War veterans and evacuees were invited and spoke to the children about their experiences. A former evacuee shared his stories of his evacuation to Barnstable. Pat Moore told the children all about the time he spent in France during the war. Children also were given the opportunity to try on some of the army uniforms. During this, children and visitors enjoyed a huge variety of cakes and some tea. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for their baking and their help in setting up and making this afternoon a special one both for the children and our visitors.
