If your child is already at school but you wish to move them to St Thomas’ please fill in the in year admission form and return it to the school together the school’s Supplementary Information Form and a  copy of your child’s Birth and Baptismal Certificates. Primary School Admissions – September 2019

The application process for children due to start primary school and junior school in September 2019 will open on 5th November and closes on 15th January 2019. Please visit the KCC website for further information.

Important – in addition to applying online, parents who wish to name St Thomas’ as one of their preferences need to complete the school’s Supplementary Information Form, which can be found at the back of the School Admissions Policy 2019-2020. This form, together with copies of the child’s birth and if appropriate, Baptismal certificate, should be sent into the school office to arrive no later than 15th January 2019. Please contact your Parish Office for details on obtaining a Priest Reference.

If you are successful in gaining a place for your child at our school, you will be required to provide proof of address information for you and your child to cover the period when your application was submitted to KCC (and within 6 November – 15 January 2019). Failure to do so may result in an offer being withdrawn.

Appeals Procedure

In accordance with the School Admissions Appeals Code 2012, the school’s appeals timetable is as follows:

Primary Admissions Round – 2019-2020

  • The deadline for lodging an appeal is 21 May 2019 which is within 20 school days from the date of notification that the appellant’s application was unsuccessful (16 April 2019). (Appeals received on this date will be treated as “on time”.)
  • Appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals.
  • Appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ written notice of their appeal hearing;
  • Late Applications, appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for lodging appeals where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged

The above timetable includes reasonable deadlines for appellants and the admissions authority to submit any additional evidence, and for the appeals clerk to send appeal papers to the panel and parties.

In Year Admissions

  • For applications for in-year admissions, appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
  • Appellants will receive at least 10 school days’ written notice of their appeal hearing;
