RE – Holidays and Holy Days

This term we have been learning about holy days in the church calendar, focusing on Easter, Ascension Day and Pentecost. Year 1 created some beautiful ‘stained glass’ style doves to represent the Holy Spirit that Jesus sent into the world as our helper and guide.

Art Exhibition

As part of our whole school Art Exhibition, Year 1 created artwork in the style of Paul Klee’s ‘Castles’. We drew inspiration from last terms Geography unit on the United Kingdom, with the children recreating the castles from throughout the UK.

Hemsley Zoo Trip

We had a wonderful time on our class trip to Hemsley Conservation Centre! Our trip was to consolidate our learning of our Science topic on Animals. We enjoyed a great workshop on animal adaptations and saw some amazing and unusual animals.
