Telling Stories through Drawing and Making

Year 3 used The Rainforest Grew all Around book as inspiration for this project. The class sketched ideas, thinking about textures, shapes, expressions etc, and turned this into plasticine models.

Rainforest Animals

As part of our Geography learning about rainforests, we had some rainforest animals come in! We were able to hold these creatures and ask loads of interesting questions about them.

Horniman Museum

Year 3 travelled up to London to the Horniman Museum as part of their History learning into the Stone Age to Iron Age, and for their Science learning into rocks and soils. They saw amazing fossils, a mammoth tusk, and had a workshop learning about life in the Stone Age. They got to handle real artefacts including a real mammoth tooth!

Forest School

Year 3 had a great time at Forest School! Forest School encourages children to take calculated risks, problem-solve, persevere, work together, make decisions, be creative and much more! It was wonderful to see the class grow in confidence through the session, take time to 'just be', and come together to share in this experience.
