Our Mission & Values
As a Catholic school, we work with the whole community to promote the well-being of every child and family. From this secure foundation, we nurture every child’s development as a learner to become a skilled and creative individual who is able to make a positive contribution to society.
At St Thomas, everything we do is guided by the following school mission:
All members of staff led by the Headteacher and Local Governance Committee Members, are aware that the school's foundations are built on the Catholic faith and beliefs and that it is our shared responsibility to transmit the Catholic faith to the children in our care.
Learning in Religious Education is at the core of the curriculum and we ensure that the Archbishop's directive is followed in allocation ten per cent of curriculum time to Religious education lessons. We hold the belief that we share the role of educators of the faith with the parents of our pupils and we strive to keep them fully informed of what their child is learning at school and to support them in what they can do at home to further their child's understanding of the faith. Parents are welcomed to assemblies and Masses. Priests from all three parishes are warmly welcomed to the school for all events and Fr. Vipin James from Sevenoaks Parish spends Tuesday afternoons in school supporting the children in their lessons that afternoon.
